Italian Farnesina: airplane with humanitarian aid to Myanmar

Following the devastating earthquake that struck the country in March

A plane operated by the Italian Cooperation and carrying humanitarian relief supplies for the civilian population of Myanmar landed yesterday morning in Yangon.

The shipment, arranged by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the request of Deputy Minister Edmondo Cirielli, who is responsible for Development Cooperation, was received yesterday by staff from the Embassy of Italy.

The cargo, intended for the International Organization for Migration as part of the emergency response to the devastating earthquake that struck the country in March (see for details AVIONEWS 1 and 2), includes essential relief items such as field tents, tarpaulins, water purifiers, and emergency kits. These supplies will help provide shelter and basic assistance to thousands of individuals in particularly vulnerable conditions.
