"Roma drone conference" returns, the event on drones and air mobility

This year focus on “medical drones” for the urgent transport of medicines and biomedical products

Roma Drone Conference 2025 returns, the leading professional event in the drone and innovative air mobility sector. Now in its eleventh edition, it will take place on Thursday, November 6 at Fiera Roma and will see the participation of the major Italian experts as well as numerous companies and startups that will present the latest technologies available on the market. The conference will be held concurrently with Welfair 2025, the fair dedicated to technological innovation in the healthcare sector (scheduled from November 4–7, also at Fiera Roma), within which an exhibition area dedicated to the use of "medical drones" for the urgent transport of medicines, vaccines and biomedical products will also be set up.

Luciano Castro explains. "The simultaneity with the Welfair fair will allow us to dedicate an in-depth focus to the drone sector for medical transport, which may see the participation, in addition to specialists in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Innovative Air Mobility (IAM), of numerous hospital executives, department heads, physicians, university professors and healthcare professionals from all over Italy".

The programme includes two sessions. In the morning session there will be a conference on the theme "Italy's drones 2025: assessment and prospects of the UAS and IAM market" to take stock of the situation, the challenges and the prospects of the drone and innovative air mobility sector in Italy. A debate is planned between authorities, companies, professionals and operators, with the participation also of representatives of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC), the Italian Flight Safety Agency (ANSV) and the company D-Flight (Enav Group). The fourth edition of PwC Strategy& Italy's research on the Italian UAS/IAM market will also be presented in preview.

In the afternoon session, the conference will address the theme "Life‑saving drones: rescue missions and biomedical transport": various trials and the first operational activities in the use of drones and electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) for the urgent medical transport of medicines, blood, vaccines, organs and medical equipment between hospital facilities or to small isolated communities will be illustrated.

The event is organised by the association Ifimedia and the company Mediarkè, in collaboration with ENAC and AOPA Italia. It will take place in the Baebiana Hall of the Fiera Roma Conference Centre (North Entrance, via Portuense 1645–1647, Pavilion 10, 9:30–17:00). Participation is free and open to experts, professionals, operators and also university students, subject to online registration.
