ITA Airways announces that, with reference to today’s strike, limitedinconvenience was experienced by passengers thanks to proactive communication andmanagement of the approximately 21,000 passengers affected by the cancellations carried out inrecent days. The Company rebooked almost all passengers on alternative flights scheduledbetween February 26 and February 28.
The airline reiterates its willingness to engage in discussions, which have already resumedthrough several meetings in recent weeks, in order to define the conditions for the contract renewalthat address the requests put forward by the Staff within a framework of sustainability for the Company.
In this regard, ITA Airways is working on a revision of the Business Plan approved last July, with amore ambitious outlook aimed at ensuring the Company’s sustainable and gradual growth. Theobjective is to expand the long-haul fleet to 30 aircraft by 2030 and extend the network with a focus on the intercontinental market, for a total investment of approximately €1.5 billion. This is closelylinked to workforce growth and development, already initiated through the recruitment campaign of100 pilots and 400 flight attendants.
The carrier hopes that discussions will continue in a constructive manner in order to achieve the shared goal of renewing the National Collective Labor Agreement and aligning on the next stepsrelated to the revision of the Business Plan.
