At the "Farnborough International Airshow" (July 20-24), Magnaghi Aerospace Group (MA Group) presented the first live demonstration of its blockchain-based digital identity system, applied directly to critical composite components for the Airbus A-220 aircraft program. The initiative aims to ensure the cryptographic integrity of the entire supply chain, eliminating the risk of counterfeiting or tampering with production data and introducing an unprecedented standard of transparency in the civil aviation and aerospace supply chains.
The new tool acts as a true, immutable digital passport for every structural element of the aircraft. Thanks to this decentralized protocol, technicians and quality control personnel responsible for assembly on production lines can instantly access the original certification data directly in the field. Immediate interaction with technical information eliminates bureaucratic mazes, ensuring operational self-sufficiency and simplifying the decision-making process during testing. Once the component's digital passport is validated, compliance specifications and safety requirements remain immutable, strengthening mutual trust between the aerostructures supplier and global commercial aviation giants.
The experiment conducted by the Neapolitan group is part of a broader manufacturing transformation in the aviation industry, increasingly focused on the integration of Deep Tech solutions.
