BA TO RISE PROFITS

LONDON, Ba announced today its profits climbed well ahead of expectations. Costs were held despite a 57 per cent rise in fuel prices. Profits rised to GBP£200m. Operating results advanced 125 per cent in the most recent quarter and 71 per cent in the half-year. Rod Eddington, BA Chief Executive, said the results were encouraging but he also underlined there are still challenges ahead.
