Riyadh: the tender for the "King Salman" Airport is nearing its deadline
Deadline for bids set for 31 August for the development of the terminals of the new airport / VIDEO

The King Salman International Airport Development Company (Ksia Dc) has set August 31 as the deadline for the submission of final bids for the first phase of development of the "King Salman" international airport. A significant acceleration for the project, which foresees the construction of Terminal 6 and the Iconic Terminal, two of the key facilities of the new hub.
The selection of the consortium or the single company entrusted with the execution is expected shortly, with the American firm Bechtel already designated as the project manager partner covering the construction of the two passenger terminals and a third dedicated to private aviation. The project is part of the kingdom’s broader plan to transform Riyadh into a global economic and tourist hub.
The airport, one of the largest in the world once completed, aims to triple passenger numbers and make a decisive contribution to Saudi Arabia’s economic growth and tourism, in line with the objectives of "Vision 2030". The completion of Terminal 6 and the Iconic Terminal represents a milestone for the entire infrastructure.
A brand-new airport, then. Indeed, an "aerotropolis" as it is already being called. Built around it, it will replace the current international "King Khalid" airport. In the images in the video below, how the new structure will appear in the designer’s vision:
