ITA Airways and Dat sign a new Interline Agreement
More connections from Ancona to the Italian airline’s network
ITA Airways, the Italian reference airline, and DAT A/S, a Danish carrier operating public service obligation routes between Ancona and the airports of Rome-Fiumicino and Milan-Linate, announce the signing of a new interline agreement (Special Prorate Agreement) aimed at improving connectivity between Ancona and ITA Airways’ domestic and international network.
Thanks to this collaboration, passengers departing from Ancona will benefit from flights operated by DAT to Rome-Fiumicino and Milan-Linate, with the possibility to connect onward to numerous destinations served by ITA Airways. At the same time, the partnership will help increase traffic flows to Ancona and contribute to promoting the Marche region, a destination renowned for the variety of its landscapes and the richness of its historical and artistic heritage —a true treasure in the heart of Italy.
The agreement represents a further step in ITA Airways’ strategy to strengthen its offering through targeted partnerships, expanding travel opportunities and providing customers with an increasingly wide range of destinations that can be reached easily and efficiently.
“The agreement with DAT is part of ITA Airways’ partnership strategy, built with reliable operators rooted in their territories and capable of expanding travel opportunities for our customers while making our network increasingly accessible", said Joerg Eberhart, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of ITA Airways. “Through this partnership, we are strengthening the connection between the Marche region and our Rome-Fiumicino hub, as well as Milan-Linate airport, facilitating access to the Company’s domestic and international destinations and contributing to thedevelopment of mobility and the attractiveness of the territory".
Luigi Vallero, General Manager of DAT, said: “Since November 3rd, the start date of our mandate, we have worked with great determination to restore credibility to air connections from Ancona to Rome and Milan, which had been lost in previous years. Our service is extremely reliable and competitive, and our steady growth confirms that weare on the right path toward further developments. The interline agreement with ITA Airways, the leading Italian airline, allows passengers to reach a large number of destinations in Italy, Europe and, within a few weeks, worldwide via Rome-Fiumicino and Milan-Linate. By purchasing a single ticket at particularly competitive fares, passengers can onceagain reach their final destination with their baggage checked through directly from Ancona International Airport".
Available destinations include numerous Italian cities —such as Bari, Bologna, Brindisi, Catania, Florence, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Turin, Trieste, and Venice— as well as international connections to Amsterdam, London, Nice, Geneva, and Paris and the entire intercontinental network of ITA Airways, which includes highly sought-after destinations such as New York, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo.
Under this agreement, customers will be able to purchase a single ITA Airways ticket for itineraries combining DAT and ITA Airways flights.
Connections operated in collaboration with DAT will complement the current Summer schedule, during which ITA Airways operates 72 destinations, including 19 domestic, 36 international, and 17 intercontinental routes, with 12 seasonal routes (3 domestic and 9 international) to Italian, Greek, and Spanish islands. The Summer schedule also includes new direct flights from Rome-Fiumicino to Malaga, Valencia, and Marseille, as well as an increase to seven weekly flights to Tunis between June and September, in addition to seasonal connections between Olbia and Turin and between Olbia and Genoa, both operating in August with weekly Saturday frequencies.
