ITA Airways launches new direct Fiumicino–Caracas flight

The service will commence at the end of March with three weekly frequencies

ITA Airways announces the launch of a new direct service between Rome-Fiumicino and Caracas, starting on 30 March 2027. The route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays,Thursdays and Sundays, using an Airbus A-330/900 aircraft.

The launch of the new flight is the result of a process developed in close cooperation with the relevantauthorities and with the valuable support of the diplomatic network, including the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Italy. This institutional dialogue helped create the conditions required to re-establish a direct and strategic air link between the two countries, as set out in the Memorandum of Understanding signed yesterday morning by ITA Airways Chief Executive Officer Joerg Eberhart and the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Italy, HE Maria Elena Uzzo Giannattasio.

The route is of significant importance to Italy’s national interests: it strengthensthe country’s connectivity with a key Latin American market, fosters economic and trade relations, andsupports the activities of Italian companies operating in Venezuela by offering new mobility opportunities for people, goods and business relations. Thanks to the connections available at the Rome-Fiumicino hub, theservice will also enable passengers to continue easily to numerous destinations across ITA Airways’domestic and international network.

The new flight also meets the needs of the large Italian and Italian-descendant community living in Venezuela, strengthening family, cultural and social ties between the two countries. At the same time, the service will help promote tourism flows and reinforce the role of Rome-Fiumicino as a leading gateway to Italy and Europe.
