GREECE POSTPONES THE PURCHASE OF 60 EUROFIGHTERS ORDERED IN FEBRUARY

ATHENS, GREECE, Costas Simitis, Greece Prime Minister, reported that Greece will postpone to 2004 or even later the purchase of the Eurofighters, built by the European joint-venture including Eads, Alenia Aeronautica (Finmeccanica) and BAe. The 60 bombers were ordered by Greece in February, for a total expense of 5 EURbn, less than 10 ITLbn.
