G7: Canadair aircraft for the Amazon and reassurances about China and Iran

"Productive" summit according to Donald Trump

The summit "G7" that brings together world leaders at Biarritz in France (see AVIONEWS) was held constructively until today. US President Donald Trump used conciliatory words on Beijing and Tehran: he praised the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping as "a great leader" and he communicated his enthusiasm for China's willingness to enter into an agreement, he stated that there was strong unity with Iran and a joint nuclear declaration will soon arrive.

Trump's assurances seem to come as a declaration of peace that reassures the world: "We are not aiming for a regime change in Iran. The United States wants Iran to go back to being rich. I don't think the way they are forced is acceptable to live". An epochal turning point considering that Iran lives in despicable economic conditions precisely because of US sanctions.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was more discreet about Tehran and said: "there is still a lot to do to find a unity about the Iranian issue".

The G7 also decided to release urgent aid for the Amazon forest devastated by fire (see AVIONEWS) with a contribution of 20 million dollars to send Canadair firefighting airplanes.
