Russia and Turkey: joint military production
Decisions taken after the encounter at the "Maks Air Show 2019" - VIDEO
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday August 27 that Turkey is interested in joint military production with Russia including missile defense systems and combat aircraft, following talks with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the "Maks Air Show 2019", the international aeronautical and space exhibition in Moscow (see AVIONEWS).
Russian President Vladimir Putin told "TASS" journalists that he had discussed with Ankara the cooperation for the manufacture of Su-35 and the possible work about the new Su-57 jet.
In September 2017, Russia signed a contract with Turkey for the purchase of Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems for an amount of 2.5 billion dollars. The agreement provides for the partial sharing of production technology to Turkey. The first batch of S-400 was delivered to the Turkish country in the period from 12 to 25 July (see AVIONEWS).
