Aeroflot: the Deputy Director leaves

A choice dictated from the western economic sanctions to the Russian managers

The economic sanctions imposed by Western governments against Russian entrepreneurs have also targeted the managers of Moscow's main air carriers. Among them there are the top managers of Aeroflot and its subsidiaries: from the low-cost Pobeda to the airline Rossiya.

According to what the Russian news agency "Interfax" reports, following the decision of the Western countries the deputy director of Aeroflot, Mikhail Poluboyarinov, resigned from his post and went abroad. The same choice was made by the deputy director of strategy and marketing of the airline, Andrey Panov. Russian journalists let it be known that the latter will be replaced by Sergey Alexandrovsky, former head of the air carrier Rossiya, a subsidiary of Aeroflot. Meanwhile, the CEO of low-cost airline Pobeda, Andrei Kalmykov, also tied to the national airline.

As a result of the sanctions, Aeroflot will no longer be able to receive aircraft and spare parts, nor will it be able to use leasing, maintenance or insurance services for their fleets, which consist almost exclusively of aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.
