Lufthansa: on the A-380 plane saw us well

In June 2023, the giant of the skies will return to service on long-haul routes

About ten months after the first announcement of the return to service of the A-380 aircraft by the German aviation group Lufthansa, the management reiterates that this is a forward-looking decision. The aircraft will be used, after a three-year stop, on long-haul routes starting from June 2023.

"We are delighted to have made this decision on the Airbus A-380 which, one year after we made it, is proving to be even more important than it was when we made this choice". Indeed, Airbus and Boeing "in the last year have communicated more delays on deliveries, rather than an acceleration. I am therefore happy to have reactivated this reserve", explained the managing director of the airline, Carsten Spohr.

The decision to reintroduce the A-380 into Lufthansa's fleet is based on various factors. In addition to the delays in the deliveries of new aircraft by Boeing and Airbus, there is also the fact that in the post-pandemic companies are modernizing their fleets to combat high fuel costs, even employing fewer aircraft on some routes, on which however, they try to keep the same number of seats offered to the passengers.
