Luftwaffe prepares to develop a combat SAR with NH-90

Starting 2006, the NH90 helicopter begins to replace the Bell UH-1D, as announced by Luftwaffe Lieutenant Colonel Volker Lepowski, head of the German armed forces' SAR services.
