Afghanistan: Italian troops to remain until December
Rome, Italy - Italian Defense secretary affirms
Italian military presence in Afghanistan will be extended until December. Italian soldiers were initially supposed to stay until June, but Italian Defense secretary, Antonio Martino, affirmed that Afghan authorities do not want main Western countries' troops to leave all at the same time. He pointed out that no official request about the postponement has come from Kabul yet. (004)
