Saddam Hussein regime showed interest in the acquisition of 4 warships and two aircraft from Ukraine. Iraq could be in fact interested in the purchase of two airplanes made-by Antonov, the Ukraine-based aeronautical manufacturer specialized in cargo and passengers aircraft easily convertible for military purposes, and in four military ships two of which could be manufactured in Iraq.
