JOINT STRIKE FIGHTER X-35A TO BREAK THE SOUND BARRIER
EDWARDS, CALIFORNIA, The Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter X-35A broke the sound barrier in its twenty-fifth flight test. Test pilot Tom Morgenfeld siad "this is another example of our flight test program exceeding even our own expectations". The fighter achieved a speed of Mach 1.05.
