Two Irkut Beriev BE-200 are presently available for the Russian Ministry which deals with civil defence in the country. Russia is going to operate some seven multirole anphibious aircraft by 2007, and what seems as mostly important in carrying on the promotion of this vehicle is that its deployment for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and Firefighting goes quite beyond the usual civil defence role....
