Rome, Italy - Against the airplanes identified as "Bandit"s
The main purpose of the Point Intercept mission is to intercept enemy targets in flight from a ground control. Usually, after the localization of a suspect airplanes by the radar site, a pair of interceptors fighters take off in scramble with the purpose to reach, identify and if necessary shoot down the suspect aircraft, if this one is identified as "Bandit".
