Chile: protests continue after the price increases

Protests continue in Chile that caused the cancellation and reschedule of various connections and about 1,400 people remained interested. Although the increase in underground fares has been cancelled, the latest in a series of price increases that had provoked the disputes, the activists took to the streets and the police tried to disperse them with water and tear gas.
Two people died charred during a fire that broke out at a large warehouse where a robbery was taking place during the riots. The number of victims therefore rises to 10.
General Javier Iturriaga del Campo announced that a curfew will be activated today in Santiago, Chile, from 10 pm to 7 am. Hundreds of soldiers along the streets of the capital.
The president of Chile Miguel Juan Sebastián Piñera Echenique said: "I listened humbly to the voice of the people and I will not be afraid to continue to do so, because this is how democracies are built. I have decided to suspend the increase in the underground, this will require the swift approval of a law. Everyone has the right to demonstrate peacefully, but nobody can threaten the security of compatriots. Only if we are united will we be able to save and preserve our democracy".
