The delivery of the first MC-21 aircraft in 2021?

Russian industry minister Manturov almost certainly gives it

Deliveries of the Irkut MC-21 (or MS-21) passenger plane to the airlines that ordered it could begin at the end of 2021. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Commerce stated it in an interview with the Russian newspaper "Vedomosti". "The certification procedures have been slowed down due to the pandemic -the minister stressed it-. Therefore, we now plan to obtain the Russian homologation certificate around mid-2021. In this case, we will be able to ship the first commercial aircraft to an operator at the end of next year". Manturov added: "The PD-14 engine already has the Russian type-approval certificate. Validation of the EASA certificate is expected at the end of 2022. Two aircraft will be engaged in flight tests. The completion of these MC-21 tests with PD engine-14 is expected in the second quarter of 2022", he added.

The MC-21 is a narrow, short and medium-haul fuselage airliner, developing and produced by the Russian aviation companies Irkut and Yakovlev under the United Aircraft Corporation brand. The aircraft is intended to replace the old Tupolev Tu-154 and Tupolev Tu-204/214 models in Russian aeronautical production, and will be placed on the world market for narrow-body airplanes as a competitor of Airbus and Boeing.
