Ukraine Airlines plane crash, Iran will grant full compensation
Director of civil aviation agency spoke about it
There is a new update regarding the Ukraine International Airlines plane, flight 752, shot down by two Iranian missiles on January 8 (see AVIONEWS). Turajd Dehgani Zangené, director of the civil aviation agency of Iran, explained in recent hours how the families of the 176 victims will be fully compensated. Statement is very important, given that an agreement was secured to be discussed in October with Ukraine and the other countries that have had to deal with the tragedy. Half of the people who lost their lives were Iranian, but there were also Canadians (63), Ukrainians (11), Swedes (10), Afghans (4), Germans and British (3).
Kiev in turn said it was willing to start the second round of talks on these compensations, proposing the period between next October 18 and 21. Latest news on the accident dated back to the end of August: after almost eight months, the black boxes revealed a terrible truth: the passengers remained alive on board for about 19 seconds after the impact of the first rocket (between this and the explosion of the second there were 25 seconds), as also detailed by AVIONEWS.
