Wizz Air: "After pandemic, we will immediately return to 2019 levels"

CEO of carrier expects a downsized industry

The hope is that there is good wine in the small barrel. As reported by the Hungarian media in the last few hours, the CEO of the low-cost airline Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi , has released some statements in which he explained how air transport could become after the pandemic. Varadi is convinced that the industry in question will be downsized due to the crisis triggered by the coronavirus; furthermore, the CEO hypothesized few companies able to survive thanks to the "generosity" of national governments (read also the article published by AVIONEWS).

A wish from Wizz Air is that fares can recover quickly once the health emergency is over, although it is obviously impossible to imagine a precise period. The manager spoke at a webinar held in the UK, complaining about the lack of coordination regarding travel and travel restrictions. Then there was a peremptory statement: "Immediately after defeating covid-19, Wizz Air will return to the levels of 2019". The hopes are pinned above all in the deliveries of Airbus, as the Hungarian airline has continued to increase the fleet with these aircraft together with IndiGo.
