Altavilla will leave Recordati's presidency to take on that of Ita

Manager has been listed as the new number one of air carrier

The appointment of the new executive president of the Italian air transport carrier (Ita) will quickly require some significant corporate changes. Last June, Alfredo Altavilla was identified by the Ministry of Economy as the ideal profile to replace Francesco Caio. In order to take up the important position, however, he will have to give up the one he currently holds, since he is president of Recordati, an Italian pharmaceutical multinational founded in 1926 and based in Milan. The latter company has released a note to underline what will happen in the coming days.

Here is what can be read in the press release: "Recordati announces that a process has been launched, in the best interest of the company and of all stakeholders, to strengthen the governance of the company, in order to further support continuous medium / long-term development of the Group ". According to reports from the newspaper" La Repubblica ", there is already an indication of an important manager as CEO of the pharmaceutical giant, while the presidency will pass to Andrea Recordati. Born in Taranto in 1963, in Fiat for 20 years and long-time right-hand man of Sergio Marchionne, Altavilla joined the board of directors of Telecom, at the proposal of the American fund Elliott. He began his career at the Catholic University of Milan as a university assistant. In 1990 he was hired by Fiat Auto, where he initially dealt with international operations in the area of strategic planning and product development appointed head of the Fiat Auto office in Beijing and in 1999 responsible for activities in Asia.
