Air India evaluates maxi aircraft order

Up to 370 new aircraft: the Tata Group's initiative to revive the airline

Flag carrier Air India is reportedly considering an order for aircraft, produced by both European Airbus and US-based Boeing, worth 50 billion dollars. The initiative has been taken by the Tata Group, which recently took its control, and is part of the airline's revitalization plan. The official announcement is not expected to come before the end of the "Farnborough Airshow", which ends next July 22.

The negotiation between the airline and aircraft manufacturers is confirmed by industry sources cited by the British press agency "Reuters". This is corroborated by rumors that have emerged in recent months. The order could include up to 70 wide-body aircraft (A-350, B-787 and B-777) and up to 300 narrow-body fixed-wing aircraft.
