Queen Elizabeth's coffin by plane to London

From Scotland to the capital on board a RAF military aircraft

After a night of vigil over the body in Edinburgh by the children (King Charles III, Princess Anne, Andrew Duke of York, Edward Earl of Wessex), today the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II will arrive in London, aboard a plane Royal Air Force (RAF) military service around 7:00pm (local time). Hundreds of thousands of subjects waiting to pay their respects to the sovereign in the Westminster hall.

On Wednesday September 14, the coffin will be transported in a Royal Horse Artillery tank of the King's Troop to the Palace of Westminster. Accompanied by the sound of cannon shots, the parade will make a journey around London's monuments: Queen's Gardens, The Mall, Horse Guards, Horse Guards Arch, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square, New Palace Yard.

The Queen's body will remain in Westminster until 6:30 am on Monday 19 September, the day on which the state funeral will be held. In just under five days it is estimated that one million people should visit Westminster Hall to pay homage to Elizabeth II, with queues up to several kilometers long.
