France: general strike on March 15th

Possible inconvenience in all airports in the country in protest against pension reform

Scheduled for tomorrow, March 15, another day of general strike in France. It is the eighth day of national mobilization jointly called by the unions to protest against the pension reform, approved in the first instance by the Senate with 195 votes in favor and 122 against. The decision provides for the raising of the minimum age for leaving work from 62 to 64 years. Inconveniences are expected throughout the transport sector.

France's Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile (Dgac) said yesterday that the strike will lead to the cancellation of around 20% of scheduled flight at Paris-Orly airport. The agency has recommended passengers to postpone their trip, for all others travelers the advice is to contact the airline or check online the information about your flight.

The protest in the aviation sector, especially in airport services, had begun on 6 March. The mobilization had had repercussions on incoming and outgoing flights at the airports of Paris-Orly, Paris-Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice and Toulouse. Delays and cancellations are expected for March 15th.
