Israel extends blitz to Gaza

Dozens of tanks are currently in the Palestinian territories

Israel is extending its military operation in the Gaza Strip. Dozens of Tel Aviv tanks are currently inside the Palestinian territories, to support the army in its counteroffensive against Hamas and in search of the hundreds of hostages kidnapped by the militias on October 7, according to some international media reports. Meanwhile, attempts to pacify the conflict by both Arab and Western countries are multiplying.

"I spoke with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Khalid Abdul Aziz Al Thani, about ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe return of all hostages and to further increase levels of aid to civilians in Gaza", said the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken. American Vice President Kamala Harris instead spoke on the phone with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, reiterating the importance of post-conflict planning and relaunching the two-state solution, Arab and Israeli.

The Turkish diplomatic channel is also always very active: "Gaza belongs to the Palestinians and will always be that way. It is the duty of the entire Islamic world to unite to not allow Israel to carry out this expansionist policy. Defending Gaza means at the same time defending Jerusalem, the Mecca, Medina, Istanbul, Beirut, Damascus and Baghdad" and all "the cities of the Islamic world", said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
