ITA Airways ends the year in the red

"Budget at a loss, but less than the 200 million that the newspapers are talking about"

The national carrier ITA Airways has communicated the company's economic data for the 2023 financial year: the company has made it known that it will close with a loss-making balance sheet, even if lower than the 200 million euros that some Italian media have spoken about . The company also reiterated that it will come close to operating break-even, ahead of the industrial plan forecasts.

The statements about the company's financial situation reported by press rumors "are devoid of any foundation". Furthermore, "the company has produced operating cash and does not foresee any tension from a liquidity point of view. The relevant data will be disseminated following their certification within the times and in the manner foreseen by the applicable legislation", they said in a note from the airline.

The company explains that the results "have allowed it to acquire credibility towards the banking sector, so much so that it has recently concluded an agreement for the recognition of credit lines useful for supporting the development of the company in terms of fleet and expansion of the network: in in the early days of 2024, a loan will also be finalized for the acquisition of the first proprietary aircraft".
