Five airlines considered the worst worldwide

They have never passed IATA safety tests or appear on the European blacklist

The ranking of the worst airlines in the world in terms of safety has been published. The list is the result of the analysis of the Aviation Safety Network database, which records aviation accidents globally, and Airline Ratings, a web platform that evaluates over 350 airlines around the world based on multiple parameters.

At the top of the ranking of the most dangerous airlines is Blue Wing, a regional airline from Suriname: it has never passed the Operational Safety Audit, that is the safety checks conducted by the International Air Transport Association (Iata) and appears on the European Union blacklist. Followed by the Pakistani airline Air Blue and the Indonesian Sriwijaya Air, which have never passed the Iata tests.

The ranking, published by the economic information site "Insider Monkey", also takes into account the number of fatal accidents recorded in the last 10 years. In this regard, in 2021 Sriwijaya Air suffered an accident involving a Boeing 737/500 aircraft shortly after takeoff from Jakarta, resulting in the death of all 62 people on board, including passengers and crew members.
