Wizz Air operations affected by French air traffic controllers strike
The statement issued by the carrier regarding the ongoing protest

Wizz Air informs its passengers and the general public that the "Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) strike in France, an event beyond our control, is currently causing disruptions to flight operations throughout the country, including overflights and routes to and from neighboring states. This national protest has led to severe congestion in European airspace, resulting in delays and, in some cases, unavoidable flight cancellations by several European carriers operating in the area, including Wizz Air. Consequently, we kindly ask for patience and understanding during this period, as these disruptions are caused by a union action that is not dependent on the will of the airline.
Despite these difficulties, Wizz Air remains fully committed to the 'Customer First Compass' initiative. The airline is making every effort to maintain its operational schedule and to avoid cancellations, prioritizing flight operations even in cases of delays. Dedicated teams for operations and customer service work around the clock to minimize the impact on passengers.
In cases where cancellations are unavoidable, Wizz Air is providing timely support to affected customers to enable rebooking on alternative flights or prompt refunds. We thank our passengers for their understanding and patience during this period of disruptions, which are beyond the company's control.
At Wizz Air, we sincerely hope that a constructive dialogue can take place among the stakeholders in France to restore normal operations in European airspace, which is already under significant pressure during the high season without these additional disruptions. Although this is a national issue, it involves millions of passengers across Europe and should therefore receive attention from the European Commission.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide timely updates through our official channels. We encourage passengers to check the status of their flights on Wizz Air’s website or mobile app before heading to the airport".
