Avinor Group: over 5 million travellers in June in Norwegian airports

3,370 drone flights reported in Avinor’s managing system

Overall, there was growth at all of Avinor’s airports (44 Norway's owned ones), both for domestic and international travel, compared to June last year. So far this year, the increase is 4 percent.

2.8 million travelled domestically in June, which is a significant 6 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

2.2 million passengers traveled internationally in June. That is 3 percent more than in June last year.

There were 55,000 commercial flight movements in June. This is a small increase (2 percent) from June last year.

In June, 3,370 drone flights were reported in Ninox Drone, Avinor’s system for managing drones.

"So far this year, we have seen an increase of nearly 30 percent in the number of reported drone plans compared to the same period last year. This shows a positive trend among drone operators and that more are seeing the benefits of using Ninox Drone as a tool for safe and secure drone flying. Summer is the high season for drone flying in Norway, with both good weather and a lot of tourism. We encourage everyone flying drones to use Ninox Drone and to familiarize themselves thoroughly with the regulations and no-fly zones around airports", says Mats Gjertsen, head of Avinor’s drone program.
