United Airlines: new direct flight between Bari and New York
With four weekly frequencies

United Airlines announced yesterday that, starting May 2, 2026, it will operate a new direct flight between Bari’s "Karol Wojtyła" airport and its New York/Newark hub, with four weekly frequencies. United will be the US carrier to offer a direct flight between Bari and the United States and, during Summer 2026, will operate up to 15 direct flights per day from Italy to the US. The new seasonal service adds to the current services between Italy and the United States: year‑round daily flights between Rome and New York/Newark and Washington, and between Milan and New York/Newark, together with seasonal services between Rome and Chicago‑O’Hare, Denver and San Francisco; between Milan and Chicago‑O’Hare; between Naples, Venice and Palermo and New York/Newark; and between Venice and Washington.
The new route is part of United Airlines’ announced 2026 summer schedule, which includes four new destinations in Croatia, Italy, Scotland and Spain, enabling the carrier to offer more destinations across the Atlantic. In Summer 2026 it will operate direct flights between its New York/Newark hub and four new destinations: Split (Croatia), Bari (Italy), Glasgow (Scotland) and Santiago de Compostela (Spain). The airline will also introduce its first service between Washington/Dulles and Reykjavik (Iceland), a new year‑round daily non‑stop between New York/Newark and Seoul (South Korea), in addition to four additional weekly flights, for a total of 18 weekly flights, between New York/Newark and Tel Aviv (Israel).
The carrier continues to expand its offering which, in 2026, will include 46 total destinations across the Atlantic and, in summer 2026, more than 800 weekly transatlantic flights. In addition to the new destinations, next year it will continue to operate all nine routes inaugurated last summer as part of its largest network expansion, including seasonal service to Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), Nuuk (Greenland), Palermo (Italy), Bilbao (Spain), Madeira Island and Faro (Portugal), and it will continue to offer year‑round service to Dakar (Senegal), Puerto Escondido (Mexico) and Kaohsiung (Taiwan).
In total, next year the carrier will offer more than 850 daily flights to and from 150 international destinations worldwide, including 41 not served by other US carriers.
