FAA ORDERS AIRLINES TO ACCELLERATE ENGINE TESTS

USA, FAA, Federal Aviation Administration, ordered airlines to speed up inspections of some models of General Electric's aircraft engine. The engine tests will be made during scheduled maintenance checks. The order is aimed to detect signs of metal fatigue in a crucial part of the engine. CF6 engines power many Boeing 747, 767, MD-11 and Airbus A300, A310, A330.
