FIRST SUKHOI PASSENGER JET TAKES FLIGHT
RUSSIA, The first Sukhoi passenger aircraft, the Su-80, has successfully made its maiden flight in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the Far East, in Russia. The plane carries 35 passengers or 8 tons of cargo and will be fully certified by 2003. It has a flight range of 3,000 kilometers at a cruising speed of 500 kilometers per hour.
