Alitalia: Lufthansa reiterates its interest
The point of view by trade unions and professional associations
The German airline Lufthansa reiterated its interest in entering the capital of the new Alitalia. A spokesman said: "The Italian market is very important for us. We have always emphasized our interest in a restructured Alitalia. A commercial partnership is also conceivable for the Lufthansa Group. We do not comment on other speculations".
The Italian Federation of Professional Associations Anpac (Civil Aviation Association), Anpav (flight attendants) and ANP (pilots) also expressed its opinion on this: "In relation to the need to relaunch Alitalia, given the renewed interest of Lufthansa and the related innovations commented in detail by Senator Lupo, considers it essential that FS and Atlantia look further into the industrial, financial and social aspects of the options put forward by the two possible industrial partners, Delta and Lufthansa, over the next few days. FNTA asks in addition that it is necessary to arrive quickly to the best solution to relaunch 'Nuova Alitalia' on the market in a stable and lasting way. The definition of a solid industrial plan will have to guarantee the ability to seize all the commercial opportunities deriving from the potential of tourist and business flows to and from the country. Only in this way can Alitalia return to its role as a natural flag company for the mobility of citizens and a stable future for its employees guaranteed by a return to profit for shareholders".
The national secretary Filt Cgil Fabrizio Cuscito said that the Government must take over the operation to finalize it positively.
