Alitalia: Lufthansa sends a letter to the Italian Mise and to Fs
The game reopens
Lufthansa would officially enter to the Alitalia game with a letter sent yesterday to the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) and to Ferrovie dello Stato (FS, railway). The entry offer could be between 150 and 200 million Euros (about 15% of the shares). The intention would be to aim for the majority with a plan of around 100 aircraft for the fleet. According to rumors, within about three years the German airline would aim to obtain a variable presence between 51% and 70% of the Italian carrier with consequent lower participation by the State. Atlantia, another element of the consortium together with FS, could remain in the game with 30%. The next move by Delta is now awaited: the American society had committed for 100 million. November 21 is currently the date for the presentation of the binding offers for the rescue of the former flag carrier, extended by the MISE.
