Afghanistan plane crash: bodies recovered

"Afghans treated them with dignity"

The bodies of the two soldiers killed in the plane crash in Ghazni, an area controlled by the Taliban, in Afghanistan, have been recovered (see AVIONEWS). According to the declarations by the US military, the bodies "were treated with dignity and respect by the local Afghan community".

Investigations are underway to establish the causes of the accident. At the moment there are no traces of enemy attacks despite the Taliban claiming the shooting down of the E-11A aircraft on Monday January 27 stating that there were CIA men inside, including the intelligence officer Micheal D'Andrea, believed to be the mastermind of the killing of General Soleimani (see AVIONEWS). Pentagon denied the news.
