Alitalia: € 400 million approved in the Senate
140 votes in favor, one against, 100 abstentions
The Alitalia decree has been approved yesterday by the Senate which grants 400 million Euros to the carrier, to be returned in six months. 140 votes in favor, one against, 100 abstentions.
According to the Minister of Economic Development, Stefano Patuanelli with this injection of liquidity and "also with the reformulation of the payment of the interest of the MEF, which releases cash for an additional 150 million, Alitalia can reach the conclusion of the extraordinary administration procedure".
Recalling that May 31 is the deadline given to the new commissioner Giuseppe Leogrande to resolve the procedure for the sale of the company in crisis, the main concerns on the need for a revitalization industrial plan that does not have too painful an impact for workers.
The eligible airlines remain Lufthansa, Air France-Klm and Delta, in addition to FS in a precious perspective oriented towards intermodality.
