Libya: Tripoli-Mitiga airport reopened
Closed for several hours for rocket launch
Tripoli-Mitiga airport, the only operating in the Libyan capital, closed for a few hours in the late afternoon due to a missile launch attributed to the forces of General Khalifa Haftar, reopened yesterday evening. The reopening of air traffic and the resumption of flights has been announced on social media. Also on February 13, Mitiga's infrastructure had been forced to stop take-offs and arrivals for several hours.
The news comes at a time when the idea of a new Italian naval mission of the European Union that will replace the "Sophia" operation in Libya has materialized, with the aim of enforcing the United Nations embargo on the supply of weapons to the North African country.
