Planes. Belavia authorized for routes with Russia
Moscow gave the go-ahead to the Belarusian flag carrier
Foregin affairs news are giving less and less space to the situation in Belarus, following the turbulent re-election of the disputed President of the Republic, Alexander Lukashenko, but there are some interesting updates on air transport. Flag airline Belavia will in fact be able to resume routes to Russia starting from next September, 30, as leaked in these hours by local media. This carrier will have the possibility to return to operations once a week with the scheduled destination at Moscow-Domodedovo airport; the chosen day is Wednesday. Belavia obtained permission from Moscow in this regard, an authorization that is added to others decided by Russia in the last few days.
In fact, departures of planes with the expected arrival in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were greeted by the local press as a positive sign of the opening of the borders. September 27 will be a decisive date for the resumption of connections between Russia and South Korea, which have been blocked for months due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the end of August there was some concern about airspace in relation to Belarus due to the violation committed by Minsk in the skies of Lithuania (read also the article published by AVIONEWS).
