Russia, "Kavkaz-2020" drill: ships and rocket launchers in action
Armored vehicle of hypothetical enemy was destroyed
Today, Friday 25 September 2020, a fundamental part of the exercise of the Russian armed forces took place, a maneuver known as "Kavkaz-2020": according to what was reported by the defense ministry, targets to attack and destroy were located near Volgograd, not far from the city of Prudboi, in the south of the country: 20 Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers completely destroyed an armored vehicle that was supposed to represent a hypothetical enemy: within twenty seconds about 500 missiles were launched, all monitored from aircraft drones. In addition, ships of Russian fleet stationed on the Black Sea carried out some military tests against missile targets. They were launched from two small anti-submarine boats, and then left room for the artillery fire of the crews of the missile cruiser "Moskva".
"Kavkaz-2020" operation began on September 21 and will end tomorrow; military maneuver is involving 80,000 soldiers. Other soldiers who have been involved come from countries such as Armenia, China, Myanmar, Pakistan and Belarus. According to the statements of Moscow ministry, there are also other numbers to take into account to better understand the deployment of forces: there are about 250 tanks, while the mechanized infantry vehicles reach up to 450, in addition to the artillery systems and to multi-launch rockets.
