Planes. Sanchez-Prieto (Iberia): "Pandemic gives us no respite"
Manager recognized the carrier's difficulties
An all too sincere speech: Javier Sanchez-Prieto, CEO of the Spanish carrier Iberia, acknowledged the difficult situation of the same company in this complicated historical period. The airline's CEO sent his employees a letter that some local media were able to view and comment on: in this letter his concerns and the need to contain costs emerge to address the crisis triggered by the coronavirus. Furthermore, Sanchez-Prieto is aware of the fact that a slight recovery will only occur in February 2021, while some more encouraging signs will take even longer (between 2023 and 2024).
The CEO of the national airline stressed that the restrictions are a fact and the main destinations are therefore inaccessible; the reference went above all to South America and North America. "The development of the pandemic gives us no respite": these are the words of the manager who has ensured the maximum commitment to the recovery of pre-covid levels and a gradual return to normality; finally, customer support must be the future reference point (read also the article published by AVIONEWS). Sanchez-Prieto replaced his predecessor Luis Gallego just under a month ago after a past experience as a founding member of Iberia Express (see AVIONEWS).
