Pentagon estimates new costs for nuclear missiles
Actual arsenal needs to be replaced
Ten billion dollars more: US Pentagon estimated yesterday, Monday October 19, 2020, new costs about nuclear missiles to replace "Minuteman 3" arsenal (used during last 50 years). Four years ago, this number was lower of about 10 billion dollars and now the total is 95.8 billion dollars. These rockets are considered very important from Pentagon itself, even if there are a lot of discussions.
Former defense department, William Perry, is sure that national security can be granted even without these missiles. Trump administration started talking about them on 2018, focusing on their resistance to nuclear attacks on large scale; Pentagon's revision on costs talks about the possibility of destroiyng these rockets only with a precise and coordinate attack with hundreds of war-heads (read also the article published from AVIONEWS). "Minuteman" missiles actually emploied are 400 and they have one nuclear war-head.
