Lufthansa's proposal for an alliance with ITA

Three main requests from the German carrier

There are basically three pivots in the proposal of the air carrier Lufthansa for a successful partnership with Ita (Italy air transport). The two companies have often been associated in the same news and rumors and this time it seems that the Teutonic one is serious. The "pivots" referred to are the exploitation of the commercial infrastructure for a greater number of sales, access to a single purchasing center to save money and entry as a main member in the joint-venture (not in the rear, therefore). Lufthansa's proposal should be able to generate something like 200 million Euros in economic benefits every year, as reported by the "Corriere della Sera". The will to enter the capital of the Newco is strong, but always in compliance with certain conditions. In fact, if the commercial operation does not bear the hoped-for results and if precise guarantees do not arrive from the Italian front, then the entry into the capital will not take place. In fact, ITA has not yet taken a precise position on international alliances, a detail which, however, has been detailed several times by the CEO Fabio Lazzerini during the various hearings in the Chamber and the Senate. The proposals are essentially two. The first is that relating to Delta Air Lines, Alitalia's historic partner, while the other is that of Lufthansa, a company that globally can count on profitable collaborations with other important carriers such as United Airlines and Air Canada. One of the most interesting scenarios in the event of a green light for the Italian-German alliance would be Ita's participation in Lufthansa's internal projects, primarily those relating to the reduction of kerosene consumption in scheduled flights.
