Ita Airways Chiefs in France to purchase Airbus aircraft
The agreement for 28 airplanes worth 4.4 billion Euros
Executives from the newly national airline Ita Airways will be in France today to purchase new Airbus aircraft with which they will renew the airline's fleet. The memorandum of understanding concerns 28 airplanes: seven A-220, eleven A-320neo and ten A-330neo. The agreement worth 4.4 billion Euros at list prices. Delivery of the aircraft will be spread over the next few years, from now until after 2026. Other fixed-wing aircraft will be leased.
This is what is revealed by an indiscretion of the newspaper "Corriere della Sera", according to which the delegation will be led by executive chairman Alfredo Altavilla, marketing director Giovanni Perosino and network manager Andrea Benassi. The mission of the executives is to decide the characteristics of the product: cabin configuration, upholstery, seats and armchairs to be installed in the various classes, entertainment systems.
In France, Airbus and Ita Airways top management will also explore together the possibility of defining another Memorandum of Understanding regarding a strategic partnership for the supply of the new generation of sustainable aircraft, such as the hydrogen-powered plane.
