Turkish Airlines: "We will order 600 new aircraft"

The announcement by company president Ahmet Bolat

The top management of the Turkish Airlines air carrier have announced that they are ready to order 600 new aircraft. The order will be finalized in June 2023 and the aircraft will be delivered within ten years. Such an order, if confirmed, would be the largest in aviation history ever by a single airline.

It was declared by airline president, Ahmet Bolat, in the past few hours: "During the Iata assembly" to be held in Istanbul from 4 to 6 June "we will announce new orders with one of the major producers, we are terminating the agreements". The announcement was made to journalists during a press conference for the launch of a new catering program on board the company's aircraft.

According to some advances, the order could be entrusted to Boeing, there are no confirmations or further details. However, Bolat said the order will consist of 400 narrow-body aircraft and 200 wide-body aircraft, adding that the overall fleet will increase to 810 aircraft by 2033.
