Malaysia charters Black Hawk helicopters

Five-year contract for 4 US military aircraft

Malaysia's defense ministry recently signed an agreement with the Pentagon for the five-year lease of four Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters. This is the first time that this model of American-made technologically advanced aircraft has ended up in the hands of the army in Kuala Lumpur. According to industry experts, it is a taste in view of a possible sale.

The news comes just a few days after the signing of a contract for the modernization of the tactical helicopter fleet. The agreement with the national company Aerotree Defense and Services, worth 40.84 million dollars, was signed on the occasion of the "Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition" ("Lima 2023"). The Malaysian objective is clear: to strengthen and innovate the fleets of the armed forces in the coming years.
