Canadair plane crashes in Greece

Aircraft crashes into hill after dropping water on flames - VIDEO

A Canadair firefighting plane crashed in Greece during the firefighting operations in the last hours. The air accident occurred above the town of Karystos on the island of Evia, near Athens. No further details are currently known about the dynamics and causes that led to the incident. 

According to the Greek on-line information portal "Ekathimerini" the aircraft belonged to the 355th Tactical Transport Squadron of the Greek Air Force. Firefighters rushed to the scene of the accident immediately. The first reports report that there were two people on board.

Below, the video. The footage shows the Canadair aircraft dousing the flames with water before crashing into a hillside. The images were relaunched by the state broadcaster "Ert".
