China seeks highly educated airline pilots

Beijing Navy launches new recruitment campaign

China is looking for military aircraft pilots. The navy has started a recruitment campaign among graduate students and is ready to raise the maximum age limit for entry into training schools. The objective of the Beijing naval forces is to numerically strengthen this professional category, while at the same time improving the qualifications of aeronautical personnel.

The Chinese Navy itself made it know in an announcement published recently on the social networking platform WeChat. Among the requirements are: degree or master's degree in science and engineering, age under 26. These are minimum skills have grown over the years: in 2022 Beijing required a degree and an age of 24 or less, while until 2021 it was sufficient to be up to 20 years old and a high school diploma.

The navy's initiative can be explained in this way: since in China the military is a career path traditionally followed by less educated people, Beijing is now betting on the education of new recruits, who will further undergo specific training for piloting aircraft embarked. A move that is part of the program of initiatives aimed at strengthening the armed forces by 2035.
